Expanding into Virginia

In 1989, Quality Printers opened a second location in King George, Virginia. This was opened in an effort to better support and expand our services for our Virginia customers. Our Virginia location also sold office supplies, and arts & crafts materials.

Initially, we were located just outside of the main gate at the Dahlgren base but a year later we moved to King George. The recession of 1990-1991 forced us to reevaluate and ultimately close that location.

Stepping into the digital world

In 2003, the business moved to Pika Drive and a 6000 sq. ft facility. Along with more space, we would expand the Quality Printers brand and operational capacity to include design, branding and digital products like websites.

Creating a new kind of space

With the knowledge of unmet needs and an industry that was changing, Quality Printers would launch a new location with a focus on websites and social media in 2007.

That venture was called Quality Printers Too which was shortened to QP2 and then ultimately became QP2 Creative. This location had a computer network with printers and copiers available for public use. We had created a comfortable space where people could come and hang out, grab a cup of coffee, and discuss marketing strategy and advertising needs.

After about 9 months, a downturn in the economy and difficulty in staffing made it necessary to roll that venture back into our primary location on Pika Drive.

Giving more back to the community

Around 2010, we grew even bigger and found our new home on 10485 Theodore Green Blvd. in White Plains MD. We have expanded our services to include signage, blueprints, promotional materials, and apparel.

Additionally, we have had the privilege of giving back to our community by creating a space in our building that could be dedicated to hosting events like live art shows, concerts, non profit meetings, and business presentations.

What interesting times we live in!

The printing industry at large continues to deal with obstacles like paper shortages and the resulting increase in costs but we will continue to adapt and come up with solutions that fit our clients needs and find ways to interact with and expand our community interactions.
